Who We Are

Bleedin’Art Guitars is an independent workshop based in Kedington, near Haverhill in Suffolk, run by me, Graeme Simkins.

If you’re here, you’re likely looking for someone you can trust with your guitar — whether that’s for a repair, a set-up, or something more involved.

You probably have a few questions:

  • Will I be happy with the quality of work?

  • Is my guitar in safe hands?

  • How much will it cost?

  • Do I need to visit the workshop?

You’ll find clear answers to all of these across the site, but here’s what you need to know.

The Work

Across the website you’ll see examples of my work, from full custom builds and restorations through to detailed fretwork and professional set-ups.

Every instrument is treated with the same level of care and attention, regardless of the job. I’m a guitarist myself, so I understand how much each one matters — both in how it plays and what it means to you.

Your guitar is fully insured while it’s with me under Lark Musical Instruments Dealer Insurance, so you can leave it here with confidence.

Pricing & Practicalities

All standard work is clearly priced on the website, so you know where you stand from the outset.

If anything comes up during the work that may affect cost, I’ll always contact you before going any further — no unexpected charges, no assumptions.

If you’re within 20 miles of Haverhill, I offer a collection and return service at £1 per mile, making things straightforward if you’d rather not travel.

Set-Up, Repair & Restoration

I provide professional set-up, repair, restoration and modification services for all types of guitars and basses.

The goal is simple — your instrument should sound right, feel right, and make you want to pick it up and play. A properly set-up guitar makes a noticeable difference straight away, whether you’re experienced or just getting started.

Custom Electric Guitars

I started out building cigar box guitars, but with a focus on doing them properly — not just rough builds, but well-made instruments with real attention to detail.

That same approach now carries through to my electric guitars. I build both original designs and refined versions of familiar styles, always with the aim of creating instruments that stand out, sound excellent, and feel right in your hands.

Custom Finishes

If you’re looking to make your guitar more personal, I also offer custom paintwork and airbrushed designs.

This can be anything from a subtle refresh through to fully bespoke artwork — whether that’s a band logo, a graphic concept, or something completely individual to you.

Getting Started

If you’re unsure what your guitar needs, or you’d just like to talk it through, feel free to get in touch.

I’m always happy to advise before any work is booked in — whether that’s a simple set-up or something more involved.
